A review by Ron Berry
One could call this a very ‘constructive’ story! In just a few pages Tricia Ballad takes the reader from
the high-pressure corporate world to the highly personal and romantic world of home restoration. Caroline Lakehurst just received a promotion at work. But it had a severe impact on her social life. How does one
maintain a personal life when work keeps piling up? Read The Perfect Candidate and see how Caroline handles it.
This is a short story, a snapshot of less than a month, but she packs it full.
By the time you’ve finished reading, you’ll know the characters. You’ll feel how they feel. It takes a good
writer to fill out a lifetime in less than twenty pages, but Tricia Ballad does just that. This is good enough to expand into
a full novel.
